Why do people celebrate World Sight Day
About 300 million people worldwide have low vision, of which 39 million are over 50, 82.5 percent of whom are blind. Vision 2020 project aims to eliminate blindness within 20 years.
But now we will probably have to wait until 2030 or 2050 to eliminate blindness. But if we can raise awareness through World Sight Day and Hope in Sight means hope to save a person’s normal vision, cure all kinds of diseases like refractive error, and increase awareness about things that cause blindness.
